Behemoth frontman Nergal says he's making progress on new album

Behemoth frontman Adam 'Nergal' Darski has revealed he's started work on the band's next album.

The singer said in January that he has been inspired by the "avant-garde" when writing the follow-up to 2014's The Satanist, adding that it would be a "new chapter" for the band and redefine their music.

Now he says in an Instagram post that he's playing "dark stuff" on his Gretsch White Falcon guitar.

He says: "Well, It has begun. The process. New music for Behemoth. Interesting to hear how the dark stuff sounds when played on White Falcon. It kinda gets me on a different track and I'm liking it a lot."

Darski also said he expected the new material to have post-punk influences.

Hear the remastered version of Metallica classic The Four Horsemen, taken from deluxe edition of Kill ‘Em All

Metallica have streamed the remastered version of classic track The Four Horsemen, taken from the upcoming deluxe edition of debut album Kill ‘Em All.

The 1983 record and its follow-up, Ride The Lighting, are to be launched in limited-edition multi-disc box sets on April 15, to tie in with Record Store Day.

The packs also include pictures from the band’s personal archives, along with detailed articles written by people who witnessed the albums being made.

Meanwhile, Metallica have revealed the cover art for the live album they recorded at the Bataclan in Paris in 2003. It’s also released on Record Store Day, with proceeds to be donated to the victims of the terrorist massacre at the venue in November.

Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite, Metallica! features nine tracks and it’s part of the band’s commitment as this year’s RSD ambassadors. Lars Ulrich recently said: “Independent record stores are part of Metallica's DNA – they’ve been pivotal in shaping each one of us into the music fanatics we've all become.”

The DVD and Blu-ray also contains three bonus tracks shot in Poland on December 10, 2015 at The Ergo Arena, Gdansk, Poland.

The band’s tour in support of their 17th studio album, ‘Redeemer of Souls’, was one of the most extensive of the group’s entire career–consisting of 130 shows in 33 countries.

Dave Mustaine Is Almost Done With A Book About Every MEGADETH Song Ever Written

Dave Mustaine wrote a memoir that came out in 2011 called Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir, and the reviews seems pretty positive on the whole. As someone who reads quite a bit, and respects the legacy of Mustaine, I'd like to get around to it eventually… though this new book sounds even better.

In an interview with NorthJersey.com, Mustaine says that he's currently working on a book that will chronicle every Megadeth song ever written.

In addition to touring and recording, Mustaine said he hopes to complete a book that will convey the story behind every Megadeth song. His 2011 biography, "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir," made The New York Times bestseller list.

"It's mostly done," Mustaine said of his next book. "The problem is I'm so busy right now I can't pay attention to it, which is not a bad problem to have."

Alright, color me interested. That's a lot of reading, and that's a lot of listening, but if Mustaine is willing to play storyteller for every single song across the band's 15 albums (and then non-album singles, etc.), then that's some serious dedication worth paying attention to.
