KREATOR Release Extreme Aggression 27 Years Ago

The phenomenal Extreme Aggression, fourth studio album by German thrash metal band KREATOR, released in 1989. Produced by Randy Burns, recording was complete by late March. After two shows in Greece, KREATOR traveled to England and between 15 April and 7 June 1989 played at least 37 dates across Europe.

Exactly on the June 19th, Extreme Aggression was released by Noise in Europe and Epic in the US. A few weeks later, the beginning of September, KREATOR arrived in New York to begin a US/Canada tour: 44 dates between 2 September and 28 October.

While the band had already gained a sizeable following in the US due to their 1987 tour with the crossover thrash band D.R.I., this album introduced many American fans to Kreator, primarily through heavy rotation of the "Betrayer" music video on MTV's Headbangers Ball, which was partly shot at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. This album was their first issued in the US by Epic Records. The album was also available on picture disc vinyl.

At least, two songs of that album, "Betrayer" and "Extreme Aggression" became hits. Check out the videos below:
