This year, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Metallica album 'Master of Puppets', ESP Guitar will release the ‘Master of Puppets’ limited edition signature guitar. Only 400 of guitars will be made available worldwide and will be officially released at the Summer NAMM show.
The LTD boasts an alder body with a bolt-on maple neck at a 25.5 inch scale. The fingerboard is made of ebony and boasts 24 XJ frets along with EMG 81 neck and bridge active pickups and a TOM bridge and string-thru body. The inlay on the fingerboard has Metallica logo. Each guitar will come with an ESP form-fit case branded with the Metallica logo and a certificate of authenticity from ESP. The body is finished with the album cover, The inverted headstock continues the red / orange hue and is branded with LTD along the top.
Metallica have also confirmed that they have begun mixing their long-awaited new album, the successor to 2008’s Death Magnetic which will be released later this year.
