German power metalers, BLIND GUARDIAN, will release a new concert album titled "Live Beyond The Spheres" on July 7 via Nuclear Blast. The set will be released as a 3-CD and 4-LP box. Include material recorded at various shows during the band's European tour in 2015. It will contain old classics, new tracks as well as songs that were very rarely performed during BLIND GUARDIAN's live shows.

ICED EARTH took a break from touring in 2015, primarily due to Schaffer's second cervical fusion surgery. Longtime ICED EARTH drummer Brent Smedley returned to the band for the current recording and touring cycle. Smedley had to step down due to personal family reasons in 2013 shortly before the recording of "Plagues Of Babylon".
Incorruptible features new guitarist Jake Dreyer (Witherfall), who joined Iced Earth in September of last year. Since work on the album had already been underway, mainman Jon Schaffer told Metal Wani that Dreyer was not part of the writing process, but that he did contribute guitar solos. When Shcaffer auditioned the axeman, he was also looking for a guitar player with a strong ability to write original material, so he was likely make more contributions in the future.

Chris Cornell, the frontman of Soundgarden and Audioslave has died at 52. Mr. Cornell died Wednesday night in Detroit, in a statement that called the death “sudden and unexpected”. The singer’s family would be “working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause.”

New York death metal pioneers SUFFOCATION has released a new lyric video "Return To The Abyss". Taken from the new album "...Of The Dark Light" on June 9th via Nuclear Blast Records.
...Of The Dark Light was produced by SUFFOCATION and tracked at Full Force Studios with longtime engineer Joe Cincotta (OBITUARY). Mixing and mastering was handled by world renowned producer/engineer Zeuss (HATEBREED, ARSIS, SUICIDE SILENCE). Cover artwork was created by Colin Marks (ORIGIN, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, KATAKLYSM).
Terrance Hobbs, the guitarist, commented: "The moment we have been waiting for is here, our new album ...Of The Dark Light will finally be released through Nuclear Blast on June 9, 2017! LINKIN PARK just release a lyric video, "Invisible". This song can be found on the band’s new album, "One More Light", which is due on May 19 through Warner Bros. Records and Machine Shop.
The track produced with RAC and Jesse Shatkin. In an interview with German press last month, singer Mike Shinoda said the song was written about the moment as a parent when you need to tell your children something they may not want to hear but are doing so because you care not because you want to hurt their feelings.

GOATWHORE will release their anticipated Vengeful Ascension full-length worldwide on June 23rd via Metal Blade Records. The band’s seventh full-length and second recorded reel-to-reel, Vengeful Ascension was captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois near Champaign, Illinois with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome), breaking a four-album tradition of working with Erik Rutan.
“Working with Rutan was awesome,” says Goatwhore front-man Ben Falgoust. “We did some great records with him. But you come to a point where you’re like, ‘All right. Let’s try something new.’ It was part of trying to remove ourselves from a comfort zone and a risk thing we needed to take. Plus, we really wanted to hit the essence of where we are live and what better way to harness that than by having our live sound guy involved. Jarrett is knowledgeable with the studio stuff. He also knows how we sound coming out of a PA and we really wanted to get closer to that.”
The resulting ten-track, forty-one-minute production – mixed by Chris Common (Tribulation, Pelican) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (Faith No More, Halford, Today Is The Day) – marches in, clutches its listeners by the throat and refuses to loosen its grip until the abrupt conclusion of “Those Who Denied God’s Will.” A sonic manifestation of war, chaos, desolation, and emotional conflict, seamlessly bridging twenty years of the band’s signature brand of audio venom, it’s a record that finds its members at their most accomplished both individually and as a cohesive unit. Celebrating one billion views on SLIPKNOT official YouTube channel, the band is sharing an interactive, 360-degree video for the song “The Shape,”, taken from their second album, ‘Iowa.’ The song was performed live for the very first time during the band’s 2016 Knotfest performance.
The video is directed by Shawn “Clown” Crahan, who explained to Rolling Stone: “From the beginning, Slipknot's goal has always been world domination. That goal is still the same today. The video for 'The Shape,' filmed at our festival Knotfest with our 'maggots,' and over 1 billion views on our YouTube channel, proves it's happening. Like it or not."
